LIVING ROOM DANCE
LIVING ROOM DANCE was launched as part of the Erasmus+ project INTERLACE: Art and Action in Contemporary Dance Education 2025–2026, in partnership with ImPulsTanz and Multimedia Hut.
LIVING ROOM DANCE adressed women over the age of 55, offering regular dance workshops by Rachel Tess over four weeks (in person and online), framed by two weekend workshops by Frédéric Gies and Sarah Stanley. The dance educators were teaching the same group, inspiring critical discourse, reflection and method development between each other.
The project was presented at INTERLACE: Art and Action in Contemporary Dance Education and at Moderna Museet Malmö in the summer of 2025.

The INTERLACE project was created by and for experienced dance educators (artists-researchers) who recognised they were developing a specialty–teaching creative dance in (diverse and) diversifying local communities–through organised, peer-based exchange.

About the publication:
The main objective of our research was to develop a shared understanding of what it means to teach creative dance to diversifying local populi, to exchange approaches and methodologies, test their use through experimentation, observation, and analysis, and produce an overview that would help disseminate their findings beyond the physical limits determined by this project and help develop the professional standard in the field of inclusive pedagogic dance practice.
